Bowling

We went bowling today. The last time we went the manager of the bowling alley behaved as if he had never heard of “homeschool bowling day” wherein we get free shoes and $1.50 games. It was weird because we’d been going for almost a year with that deal. So we skipped last month because he wanted to charge us the regular price. When it was proposed that we go this month I wasn’t expecting what happened today. There must have been 75-100 homeschoolers there. Some other group must have heard about it, because poor Elizabeth and I were overwhelmed. We usually are the only ones there. Maybe it had been cancelled before and we just hadn’t gotten the memo.

I made prosphora today. With all of it’s spiritual implications and ramifications, I have to say, yet fearfully, that I hate doing it. I have always hated it. I can’t imagine a time when I will ever not hate it. Period.

Right now Little Mark is having the night crazies.

Tigers & Butterflies

Another funny thing Max said a couple days ago: We were looking at the back of a gardening magazine which had a photo of a tiger swallowtail. It was yellow and black and about double its natural size. I explained to Max that it was called a tiger swallowtail. I said, “You see? Don’t you think it looks like a tiger?”
Max replied, “I think it looks like a butterfly.”
